Warriors' Curry probable to return Tuesday

Lance Iversen-USA TODAY Sports

Stephen Curry's status for the Golden State Warriors' game Tuesday against the Washington Wizards has been upgraded to probable.

He had been listed as questionable Monday, a day after sitting out against the Indiana Pacers due to a sore right foot.

It's clearly good news for the Warriors, who lost to the inferior Pacers without their MVP candidate. What's also good news is that Curry says his discomfort isn't in the area of his twice-surgically repaired right ankle, per Diamond Leung of the San Jose Mercury News.

Curry said he will see how his foot feels during his pregame routine before determining if he'll play, according to Rusty Simmons of the San Francisco Chronicle.

Prior to Sunday, Curry hadn't missed a game due to injury in 15 months. He apparently tweaked his foot against the San Antonio Spurs on Friday.

The Warriors, with a league-low 10 losses, lead the Pacific division by eight games, but only have a three-game advantage over the Memphis Grizzlies in the Western Conference standings. After the Wizards, the Dubs have a showdown on the road with the Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday.
