Horford on Hawks' thinned-out wing rotation: 'We're confident in 1 through 15'

The Atlanta Hawks refused to be slowed by several injuries on the wing on Friday, somehow defeating a deep Portland Trail Blazers team for their 18th consecutive victory.

They entered the game without starting small forward DeMarre Carroll and lost Thabo Sefolosha just minutes into the game. Both players remain out on Saturday, rendering the Hawks razor-thin at the shooting guard and small forward positions.

That meant 40 minutes for Kent Bazemore off the bench and more time for Kyle Korver at the three on Friday. It also made for a brief John Jenkins appearance, after the third-year player had previously hit the floor just four times this season. Whether it's The Bazed God, Jenkins or someone else stepping up, the Hawks aren't worried about depth proving an issue Saturday against the Philadelphia 76ers or moving forward.

"We're confident in one through 15 here," Al Horford said Friday. "Guys really put in the time, guys work every day. They just don't get the opportunity because we're so deep."

Beyond just tapping their less-heralded wings, the Hawks could also play with interesting lineups to paper over the lack of natural small forwards. Mike Scott could conceivably play some three and the team could deploy Dennis Schroder and Jeff Teague together more often - they've played just 62 minutes together this year - to help get through the tough stretch.

It's also a nice time to draw the 76ers.
