With the Indiana Pacers likely to take a massive step back this season and Roy Hibbert able to opt out of his contract next summer, the team is reportedly shopping the All-Star big man and may have called a division rival in the process.

Hibbert's season – much like the Pacers' – went into a tailspin in the second half of 2013-14 and it could be tough for Indiana to find a team willing to take on the roughly $30 million remaining on his contract over the next two years (Hibbert has a $15,514,031 player option for 2015-16).

Hibbert also wouldn't aid the Pistons' issues, as Detroit would probably want to address their needs at other positions if they break up the Monroe-Drummond-Smith trio, not add another lumbering big man.

Swapping Hibbert and Monroe doesn't seem to make much sense for the Pistons, but given the reported divide between Monroe and the front office right now, the Pacers' current situation and Hibbert's inconsistencies, both bigs are worth keeping an eye on over the rest of the summer.
