Curry named Clutch Player of the Year

Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry has won the 2023-24 Clutch Player of the Year award, the NBA announced Thursday.

Curry beat out Chicago Bulls forward DeMar DeRozan and Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander for the hardware.

The 36-year-old scored the most points in clutch time - when the scoring margin is within five points with no more than five minutes remaining - this season, totaling 189 in 43 games.

Curry averaged 26.4 points, 5.1 assists, and 4.5 rebounds in 74 games this campaign. The Warriors were eliminated in the play-in tournament by the Sacramento Kings.

Kings guard De'Aaron Fox became the league's first winner of the award last season. DeRozan was also a nominee in 2023-23.
