Andrew Wiggins just wants to be wanted.

Speaking with ESPN while taking part in a photo shoot for Panini trading cards, Wiggins was asked about the uncertainty over his future with the Cleveland Cavaliers, who look likely to trade him to the Minnesota Timberwolves at the end of the month in exchange for Kevin Love.

"I just want to play for a team that wants me," Wiggins answered. "So whichever team wants me I'll play for."

Wiggins was then asked if he thought the Cavaliers wanted to keep him around. After a few seconds of thinking, he awkwardly responded: "Yeah ... I hope so."

The whole sequence was slightly odd, but the interview did shed some light on how the Cavaliers and Wiggins are approaching the current situation. Wiggins claims that the franchise has yet to speak to him about anything trade-related and also mentioned that he hasn't yet spoken to LeBron James.

Make of that what you will, but it doesn't sound like Cleveland are itching to hold on to their first overall pick from this year's draft. Furthemore, it probably isn't much of a coincidence that the Timberwolves are reportedly expected to trade Love by late August, when Wiggins will be eligible to be traded.
