It's been a disappointing few weeks (to say the least) for the Los Angeles Lakers, who came into this NBA offseason nursing hopes of uniting Kobe Bryant with Carmelo Anthony and LeBron James, and have come away with Jordan Hill, Nick Young, and Ed Davis instead.
As they look to continue making incremental upgrades to their increasingly dire roster, the Lakers will open a roster spot by waiving point guard Kendall Marshall.
Lakers waiving guard Kendall Marshall, but have interest in bringing him back on a new deal if he clears waivers, league sources tell Yahoo.

Marshall finished 10th in the NBA in total assists last season, despite playing just 54 games, and his 8.8 per-game average would have tied him for second in the league if he'd played enough to qualify.
But Marshall was also extremely unproductive, posting a sky-high 25.6 turnover rate and a putrid 49.4 true shooting percentage, while averaging just one free-throw attempt per game.
