Dwyane Wade having not put pen to paper on a new deal with the Miami Heat probably doesn't mean he's looking at situations elsewhere, according to ESPN's Marc Stein.
Stein reports that Wade is the "most expected" move of the offseason, but that "it's unlikely to be finalized until Monday" at the earliest.
That makes some sense, given how the Heat have been forced to recover quickly after the departure of LeBron James, which reportedly surprised the franchise. The team has responded with a reported signing of Luol Deng, and Wade's deal being pushed could be a casualty of the Heat's scramble. It's also possible the exact dollar figure of Wade's deal will depend on who else they can bring in and at what price.
In any case, it seems very unlikely that the three-time champion and 2003 No. 5 overall pick will be leaving the only NBA home he's ever known. Wade, by the way, is already the franchise's all-time leading scorer by a long shot, also leading in assists and steals while ranking second in blocks and fourth in rebounds.
