After three years of speculation, Serbian prospect Nikola Mirotic is finally coming stateside to join the Chicago Bulls, as the player himself tweeted on Sunday.

Even though Mirotic was a first-round pick in 2011, since three years have passed he is no longer subject to the league's rookie scale. That's how he's able to land a deal that pays him a shade above the league's mid-level exception, if the price reported by Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports is correct.

Mirotic represents a nice addition for the Bulls, as the 6-foot-10 power forward adds some floor spacing to the frontcourt rotation and an additional body in the event the team uses the Amnesty provision on Carlos Boozer this week. With Pau Gasol also joining the Bulls, Chicago should once again have a formidable stable of bigs for 2014-15.

This past season with Real Madrid in the Spanish ACB league, Mirotic averaging 12.4 points and 4.6 rebounds, shooting 46.1 percent on threes. He helped take Real Madrid to the Euroleague Final Four, where they lost in the finals to Maccabi Tel Aviv despite Mirotic posting 12 points and seven rebounds. He was named to the All-Euroleague Second Team and All-ACB Team following the season, also earning the Spanish Cup MVP award.
