Report: Wizards interested in Lou Williams, Bojan Bogdanovic

The surging Washington Wizards could be buyers this trade season.

They've been the best team in the East since December, and may be looking to capitalize on their success by adding a veteran swingman.

The Wizards are eyeing Los Angeles Lakers shooting guard Lou Williams and Brooklyn Nets small forward Bojan Bogdanovic, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical.

Washington would be willing to part with a first-round pick - possibly even in the 2017 draft - to acquire an experienced wing, Wojnarowski added.

The third-place Wiz are top-heavy, relying on their five starters, plus Kelly Oubre, to compensate for the weakest bench in the league. A move for either Williams or Bogdanovic would give them some much-needed offensive firepower off the pine and help their bid to go on a deep playoff run.

The Lakers signed Williams, 30, to a three-year deal in 2015 and reportedly dangled him ahead of last season's trade deadline. The streaky shooter is averaging a team-high 18.6 points to go along with 3.2 assists, 2.1 rebounds, and a steal in 24 minutes per game off the bench in his 12th campaign. He's owed $7 million next season.

Like Williams, Bogdanovic was reportedly made available in 2015-16. The 27-year-old is averaging 14.2 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.6 dimes. It'd be ideal for the rebuilding Nets to get a pick for the Bosnian before he hits free agency this summer.

The trade deadline is next Thursday at 3 p.m. ET.
