James Harden of the Houston Rockets and John Wall of the Washington Wizards have been named NBA Players of the Month for December in the Western and Eastern Conference, respectively.

The same duo were named Players of the Week on Monday.

Harden had five triple-doubles in December, ranking fourth league-wide in scoring and first in assists, as he continues his quest to become the first player to lead the league in both since Nate Archibald in 1972-73.

He also scored a career-high 53 points on New Year's Eve, becoming the first player in NBA history to have at least 50 points, 15 assists, and 15 rebounds in a game - while tying Wilt Chamberlain's record for the most points in a triple-double.

Wall led the Eastern Conference in assists and steals during the month, and scored a career-high 52 points on Dec. 6. He beat out Isaiah Thomas for the honor, which may not sit well with the Boston Celtics guard. On Monday, Thomas told reporters he deserved the honor. "Hell yeah," he said. "I should definitely get that award."

Thomas led the conference in scoring at 30.3 points per game in December.
