VIDEO: Rays-Royals exchange inside-the-park home runs
The Kansas City Royals and Tampa Bay Rays combined for four home runs on Wednesday, with only two actually clearing the outfield fence.
Logan Forsythe was the benefactor of some unfortunate luck in the fourth inning. The Rays second baseman drove a ball to right field past the outstretched glove of Alex Gordon. Gordon, however suffered a groin strain on the play, allowing Forsythe to come around for the inside-the-park home run.
Royals speedster Jarrod Dyson also benefited from a misplay in right field two innings later as David DeJesus's dive came up short and had the ball roll all the way to the wall, allowing Dyson to cruise around the bases.

It marked the first game with inside-the-park home runs by both teams since May 26, 1997, according to Elias Sports.
Royals center fielder Lorenzo Cain and Rays catcher Rene Rivera had their balls clear the wall as Kansas City won 9-7.
