Mookie Betts' wish for Adam Jones was answered.
After Jones revealed he was subjected to racial slurs during Monday's contest between the Baltimore Orioles and Boston Red Sox, Betts pleaded with the fans at Fenway Park to say no to racism and "literally stand up" for Jones on Tuesday. The crowd responded with a standing ovation in the first inning as he approached the plate.
Jones acknowledged the Fenway faithful by nodding and tipping his cap, while Betts also removed his hat and joined in on the applause in right field.
