Obama jokes he's asked Epstein to be DNC chair

Barack Obama's term as president is coming to an end in a few days, but that hasn't stopped him from trying to recruit one of the best baseball executives for a spot on the Democratic National Committee.

During the Chicago Cubs' visit to the White House on Monday, Obama jokingly said he's spoken to Cubs president Theo Epstein about chairing the DNC.

Obama referred to Epstein as a "drought quencher," poking fun at the Democratic Party's recent loss in the presidential election. Although Epstein has no background in politics, being labeled as a drought quencher couldn't be more accurate.

The 43-year-old's resume is unlike any other baseball executive, as the brilliant baseball mind helped guide the Boston Red Sox to their first World Series in 86 years, and last season won a championship with the Cubs - the team's first since 1908.

With both organizations, Epstein helped erase a combined World Series drought of 191 years.
