Melvin Upton Jr.'s home run off of Cole Hamels traversed language barriers.
The Toronto Blue Jays left fielder put the icing on a miserable start for Hamels on Thursday in Game 1 of the ALDS, connecting on a solo shot in the fourth inning to turn a bad night worse for the Texas Rangers starter.
Broadcaster Rodger Brulotte of Quebec-based channel TVA Sports summed up Canada's feelings about the home run, letting it all out as Upton rounded the bases for Toronto's first longball of the postseason.
Hamels didn't make it out of the inning, as he was replaced by Alex Claudio after allowing a single to Josh Donaldson, making Thursday the southpaw's worst postseason start of his career.
