Website planning 'Moon Big Papi' tribute at Yankee Stadium

A group of New York Yankees fans want to give David Ortiz a parting gift for the ages.

MoonBigPapi.com is a website dedicated to gathering fans at Yankee Stadium on Sept. 29, with a slightly odd goal: for a sea of fans to drop their pants and moon the Boston Red Sox slugger.

"If ten people Moon Big Papi, they'll be arrested," the website states. "If ten thousand people Moon Big Papi, they'll tell their grandchildren they were there."

Every time Ortiz visits Yankee Stadium, he's showered with a chorus of boos when he steps to the plate in a likely sign of fear or respect.

In February, the soon-to-be-retired Ortiz made his case to Yankee fans to be on his side, just once.

“You know what I want most of all?’’ Ortiz told Kevin Kernan of the New York Post at the time. “I would love it if the fans at Yankee Stadium gave me a standing ovation.’’

The website outlines a list of 10 goals that would be accomplished by doing this, including distracting Ortiz from hitting, and seeing ultra-Red Sox fan Ben Affleck extremely upset.
