The San Diego Padres are on some kind of a power trip.

Third baseman Adam Rosales' third-inning home run Wednesday off R.A. Dickey did more than just help the Padres to an 8-4 win over the Toronto Blue Jay. His two-run blast extended the Padres' streak of consecutive games with a home run to 25, pulling them into a tie with the 1998 Atlanta Braves for the longest such streak in National League history.

Rosales' blast was just the start for the suddenly power-laden Padres. Brett Wallace went yard off Dickey in the fifth inning, and rookie Alex Dickerson took Franklin Morales deep in the eighth, the fourth straight game in which he's homered.

The streak has been a total team effort, with 10 different Padres going deep. Although it's captured baseball's attention, the players themselves don't seem to be putting much stock into the record.

"I don't think anybody's really paying attention to it," outfielder Matt Kemp told MLB.com's A.J. Cassavell ahead of Wednesday's game. "We're all just trying to put good swings on balls and trying to hit the ball hard."

San Diego is just two games away from tying the major-league record of 27 consecutive games, set by the 2002 Texas Rangers. It's only the fifth team in history to homer in at least 25 straight contests, joining the '98 Braves, '02 Rangers, 1941 Yankees, and 1994 Tigers.

The Padres' previous franchise record was a 14-game streak during the 1998 season.
