Boston Red Sox right fielder Mookie Betts had himself a night Tuesday at Camden Yards, going deep three times in his first four plate appearances to lift his club to a 6-2 victory over Baltimore Orioles with the first three-homer game of his young career.

Betts, who entered Tuesday's contest with no homers in his previous eight games, wasted no time getting the party started as he smacked a leadoff homer off right-hander Kevin Gausman to give his club a quick 1-0 lead.

An inning later, the 23-year-old was back at it, depositing a three-run blast off Gausman into the first row in left field to extend Boston's lead to 5-0.

Then, after lining out in the top of the fourth, Betts capped his mind-boggling performance with perhaps his most impressive drive of the evening, spanking an opposite-field solo shot off reliever Dylan Bundy well into the seats in right-center in the seventh.

"This is probably the best night," Betts told ESPN's Scott Lauber when asked where the performance ranks among any game he has played. "First time I've ever [hit three homers]. I was able to make a play behind [reliever] Robbie Ross, too. So, for putting the whole game together, I think today was the best."
