Klopp, whose appointment comes only four days after Brendan Rodgers was sacked, inked a three-year contract and is expected to earn around £5 million per year, according to Andy Hunter of the Guardian. He will be presented at a press conference on Friday.

Football's hippest manager has already made his presence felt at Liverpool; the club announced earlier Thursday that Sean O'Driscoll and Gary McAllister had lost their jobs as assistant manager and first-coach, respectively, being informed that they were not part of Klopp's plans. Glen Driscoll, the head of performance, and Chris Davies, the head of opposition analysis, also departed.

Despite a report that Klopp hadn't been contacted by Liverpool prior to the sacking of Rodgers, Hunter writes that Klopp was acutely aware of the club's interest, as Fenway Sports Group, its owner, had approached him on two previous occasions.

Back in April, Borussia Dortmund announced that Klopp would be leaving the club, capping his godly time at the Westfalenstadion at seven successful years, which included successive Bundesliga titles, Dortmund's first-ever double in 2011-12, and a run to the final of the 2012-13 Champions League.

Known for its sense of humour when it comes to social media, Dortmund wasted no time in wishing Klopp the best via Twitter, publishing a photo of the manager walking across a zebra crossing outside Abbey Road Studios.
