Report: Liverpool interested in appointing Jurgen Klopp or Carlo Ancelotti
Liverpool has reportedly set its sights on a pair of Europe's most illustrious managers.
The Merseyside club is interested in appointing Jurgen Klopp or Carlo Ancelotti as Brendan Rodgers' successor although neither of the potential candidates has been contacted about the vacant position, Sky Sports reports.
Rodgers was sacked Sunday after Liverpool's 1-1 draw at Everton in the 225th edition of the Merseyside derby, bringing an end to the Welsh manager's three-year reign at Anfield.

Both Klopp and Ancelotti were linked to Liverpool before Rodgers was fired. Most notably, it was reported at the end of September that Klopp, football's hippest manager, would end his sabbatical for the right job and would be interested in managing a club in the United Kingdom.

Klopp relinquished his role as manager of Borussia Dortmund in June after guiding the club to successive Bundesliga titles as well as its first-ever double in 2011-12. He spent seven years at the Westfalenstadion.
Ancelotti, meanwhile, was sacked by Real Madrid in May after the club ended last season without a Champions League title or a La Liga title.
