After a dreadful match was flipped on its head by two stunning late Leigh Griffiths free-kicks in a three-minute window for Scotland, Harry Kane marked his first outing as England captain by saving the Three Lions considerable embarrassment with a 93rd-minute leveller.
In what was a World Cup qualifying match that will be remembered for dire play, drab goalkeeping, and a shocking finish, Scotland started on the front foot, only for England to control the impetus of play through the interval and into the second half.
It wasn't until Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate brought tireless Arsenal worker Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain on 25 minutes from time that England began to show some life, and the versatile Gunner needed only a minute to beat Craig Gordon for the opener.
That advantage lasted all of 17 minutes before Gary Cahill inexplicably clattered Ryan Fraser yards from the penalty area. Up stepped Leigh Griffiths, and a hush swept over Hampden Park that soon turned to hysterics, as the Celtic striker matched his first goal for the Tartan Army on 87 minutes with an equally brilliant effort three minutes later from a similar spot.

Delirium shifted to familiar compliance as Kane snatched the point courtesy of some poor defending in a result that flatters the underwhelming efforts of the British neighbours.
With the 2-2 draw, Group F leader England maintains a three-point margin on second-place Slovenia, with Scotland sitting fourth - six points adrift of the Three Lions.
