Report: Juventus strikes €25M deal to sign Sampdoria's Schick
Juventus has reached an agreement with Sampdoria to sign highly rated Czech striker Patrik Schick for €25 million, according to Sky Sport Italia's Fabrizio Romano.
What's left to be decided is whether Schick, 21, will join the Bianconeri right away, or remain at Sampdoria on loan for the 2017-18 season.
Sampdoria president Massimo Ferrero confirmed Schick's move to the Old Lady at the beginning of the month. Roma had also been interested, but Ferrero said "they don't have the money."
Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri would like to take the player immediately, Romano's colleague, Gianluca Di Marzio, added, even though Schick would face fierce competition for a place in the starting lineup.
Schick's price tag could be negotiated down if Juventus offers certain makeweights, Di Marzio said, but at the moment it appears the six-time defending Italian champion is prepared to pay €25 million, which is the player's release clause.
With 11 goals in 32 appearances, Schick finished his first Serie A campaign strong. He cost Sampdoria just €4 million last summer.
