Sampdoria president: Schick is going to Juventus

Patrik Schick, one of the hottest players on the Italian peninsula, will join Juventus, Sampdoria president Massimo Ferrero predicted Thursday.

The 21-year-old Czech Republic international captured the attention of European football with his late-season displays in Genoa, with Juventus, Inter, and Roma reportedly leading the charge.

Scoring 11 goals in 14 Serie A starts, Schick showed off his fleet footwork and ruthlessness in front of goal - most notably when he pulled off a Bergkamp-esque turn before producing an excellent finish against FC Crotone.

"Schick? He's going to Juventus," Ferrero, who has never shied away from the microphone, told reporters, according to Sky Sport Italia. "Roma asked about him but they don't have the money. Tell (Roma president James) Pallotta to find the money. Without money, there is no song to sing."

Ferrero's comments seem to corroborate the claims of Inter director Walter Sabatini, who expressed his belief earlier this week that the Bianconeri had beaten the Nerazzurri to Schick.

Neither Sampdoria nor Juventus has provided official confirmation of any transfer. The fee will likely reach a figure around €25 million, which is widely reported to be the player's release clause.
