A familiar face will be in the St. Louis Cardinals' dugout during this weekend's series against the Chicago Cubs.

Former Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina will join Oliver Marmol's coaching staff for two games at Busch Stadium on Friday and Saturday. It'll be his first appearance with the team since he retired in 2022.

"As soon as I heard he was going to be in town, inviting him to sit next to me was the right move," Marmol said, according to The Athletic's Katie Woo.

"It's good for the players, good for the staff, and honestly, it's great for the fans, too."

Molina, who has aspirations of being a manager in MLB, is looking for additional bench experience, according to MLB.com's John Denton. The 43-year-old managed Team Puerto Rico at the 2023 World Baseball Classic and will do so for a second time in 2026.

Molina enjoyed a terrific career with the Cardinals, making 10 All-Star teams and winning nine Gold Gloves and two World Series throughout 19 seasons.
