The Seattle Seahawks released tight end Noah Fant, the team announced Sunday.

Fant was owed $8.5 million in non-guaranteed salary this coming season. The move clears $9 million total in cash for the Seahawks, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.

The 27-year-old came over to the Seahawks in 2022 after being included in a trade that saw quarterback Russell Wilson head to the Broncos. Fant signed a two-year, $21-million extension with Seattle in March 2024.

Fant appeared in 48 games over three seasons with the Seahawks, recording 130 receptions for 1,400 yards and five touchdowns.

Seattle selected tight end Elijah Arroyo in the second round of this year's draft out of Miami. AJ Barner and Eric Saubert are the other tight ends on Seattle's roster.

Denver picked Fant in the first round of the 2019 draft. He has recorded 300 catches for 3,305 yards and 15 scores across 95 career games.
