Chiefs' Worthy doubtful for Super Bowl LIX rematch

The Kansas City Chiefs listed wide receiver Xavier Worthy as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles due to a shoulder injury.

Worthy dislocated his shoulder in the Chiefs' season opener against the Los Angeles Chargers after colliding with teammate Travis Kelce during Kansas City's opening drive. He was subsequently taken out of the game and did not return.

The 22-year-old was a limited participant in practice sessions Thursday and Friday after missing Wednesday's workout.

Head coach Andy Reid said Friday that there was a "slim chance" Worthy would be available for Sunday's Super Bowl LIX rematch, per The Athletic's Jesse Newell.

Worthy, a 2024 first-round pick, hauled in 59 receptions for 638 yards and six touchdowns last season.

His absence is another blow to the Chiefs' receiving corps. Rashee Rice is serving a six-game suspension for violating the league's personal conduct policy, and rookie wideout Jalen Royals has been ruled out of Sunday's game due to a knee injury.
