Four NHL clubs are reportedly among the teams most interested in signing a coveted U.S. college unrestricted free-agent defenseman.
The Buffalo Sabres, Dallas Stars, New Jersey Devils, and Colorado Avalanche are among the squads with high levels of interest in Gavin Bayreuther, TSN's Bob McKenzie reports.
The 22-year-old is weighing his options and is expected to sign in the next day or two, according to the report.
Bayreuther notched 29 points in 30 games in his senior season with St. Lawrence University.
The top U.S. college free-agent prize, Northeastern's Zach Aston-Reese, has numerous suitors himself and is also expected to make a decision in the next 24 hours, McKenzie writes.
