Eddie Lacy concedes James Starks is the better player right now
Eddie Lacy officially lost his job as the Green Bay Packers' starting running back Wednesday.
Rather than being bitter about it, Lacy sounds like someone who's as baffled as everyone else about why his play has been so poor this season.
"If I knew the answer to that, we probably wouldn't be having this discussion," Lacy said, according to ESPN's Rob Demovsky. "I honestly don't know what it is. Definitely, I'm off to a different start. I'm not playing how I was the previous two years. Later on in the season, maybe it'll pick back up, but as of right now, this is just the move that is going to be."
Lacy conceded that former backup and new starter James Starks has "been the better player between us two so far."
Lacy refused to make excuses for himself, saying he's not hurt and not overweight, as many have assumed.
The third-year runner tried to have a positive outlook on things, saying his demotion could serve as the wake-up call he needs.
