Wide receiver Vincent Jackson will remain with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2015 and won't restructure his contract to free up salary cap space for the team, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Jackson, 32, will earn $9.78 million and carry a cap hit of $12 million. Despite these lofty figures and widespread rumors suggesting the Buccaneers asked Jackson to restructure, Stroud reports the team never considered reworking Jackson's deal.
Jackson has produced three straight 1,000-yard seasons for sub-par Buccaneers squads. He and Mike Evans form one of the NFL's most fearsome wide receiver duos.
