Report: Jets receiver Stephen Hill claims he grew an inch this offseason
New York Jets wide receiver Stephen Hill claims he grew as a player this offseason - figuratively and literally.
"Physically, I grew an inch-and-a-half the past few months," Hill said, according to Kristian Dyer of Metro New York. "I am just 23. I was 6-foot-3 and some change. Now [I am] over 6-foot-4 — definitely added some muscle as well."
It's not impossible for men in their 20s to grow taller, but it's quite rare. Most players entering the NFL from college have already reached their adult height.
Will the added inch help Hill's chances of carving out a significant role with the Jets this season? It probably can't hurt, but Hill's NFL future will still depend on whether he learns to run routes with greater accuracy and catch passes with more consistency.
