49ers fans jumping at $49 tattoo special
San Francisco tattoo shop owners Mark and Tina Sanchez are cashing in -- $49 at a time -- on the 49ers' playoff run.
Until their ouster, they are offering red and gold team logos at Silver Needle Studios - a special that has fans reportedly coming in droves.
"As long as they're in the post season, we're going to keep doing it. It's going to keep us on our toes every day. People come down, expect a little bit of a wait, but we'll get ya in and out," said Tina via Ama Daetz of KGO-TV San Francisco.
("In and out." Not exactly ideal for something that will be permanently etched into your skin.)
The brilliance of the business decision is based on the faithful's hardcore nature. Real fans, well, they have ink, according to Isai Torres, who got a three-by-three inch tattoo on his neck.
"The real die hard 9ers get tattoos. I kind of always wanted to get a 49ers tattoo and when Mark came out with the idea, I said, 'Hey, this is my chance right now. Let me go down there and get it."
No word if any of these tattoos are already celebrating a Super Bowl XLVIII championship.
