Falcons exercise London's 5th-year option
The Atlanta Falcons announced Wednesday that they're picking up the fifth-year option for wide receiver Drake London.
London has developed into the Falcons' top receiving target across three seasons. The 23-year-old will receive a guaranteed salary of $16.8 million for the 2026 season, according to Spotrac.
Atlanta drafted the USC product at No. 8 overall in 2022, making him the first wide receiver off the board that year ahead of Garrett Wilson, Chris Olave, and Jameson Williams, among other prospects.
The Falcons had until Thursday to exercise the fifth-year option on London's rookie deal.
The 6-foot-4, 213-pound wideout posted his first 1,000-yard campaign in 2024 to go along with 100 catches and nine touchdowns. London has gradually improved his numbers over his pro career, posting 866 receiving yards in 2022 before recording 905 yards on 69 receptions in 2023.
London is expected to be a crucial piece of a Falcons offense set to feature second-year quarterback Michael Penix next season. Atlanta also boasts a pass-catching group that includes Darnell Mooney, Ray-Ray McCloud, and tight end Kyle Pitts.
