Dallas Cowboys doctors believe wide receiver CeeDee Lamb avoided a significant injury to his ankle, owner Jerry Jones said after their 31-14 loss to the Chicago Bears.

"Let's just keep our fingers crossed," Jones told reporters, according to The Athletic's Jon Machota.

Lamb sprained his ankle in the first quarter. He came back for one play before bowing out for good. The Cowboys are still assessing which part of the ankle he sprained.

The Cowboys' leading receiver didn't catch any passes before exiting the matchup. Lamb caught 16 passes for 222 yards in his first two appearances this season.

With Lamb sidelined, tight end Jake Ferguson finished the day with 13 catches for 82 yards. George Pickens racked up 68 yards and one touchdown on five receptions.
