Report: Redskins will receive $27 million for FedEx Field renovations
The Washington Redskins will receive $27 million in funds to renovate FedEx Field, Tarik El-Bashir of CSNWashington.com reports.
The funds were approved by owners at the NFL's fall meeting in Washington on Tuesday, a source with knowledge of the vote told El-Bashir.
Upgrades to FedEx Field will reportedly include LED ribbon boards inside the stadium bowl, improvements to seating, in-stadium wi-fi, and a Hall of Fame expansion.
To pay for the renovation, El-Bashir says the Redskins "will receive a waiver of the premium seating revenue it normally pays to the league and other teams."
FedEx Field has been home to the Redskins for the past 15 years.
