Reid: Mahomes 'doing great' after hit to head in divisional-round game
Patrick Mahomes watched the end of the Kansas City Chiefs' divisional-round win over the Cleveland Browns after being evaluated for a concussion in the third quarter.
Mahomes was helped off the field after being tackled by linebacker Mack Wilson on a third-down run. His head didn't seem to make hard contact with the turf, though he was taken down by the head/neck area.
Chiefs head coach Andy Reid explained that the signal-caller was hit in the back of the head during the tackle but is feeling better.
"He's doing great right now. So that's a positive. He passed all of the deals he had to pass," Reid said postgame, according to Jeff Darlington of ESPN.
Mahomes was 21 of 30 for 255 yards and a touchdown when he was replaced by Chad Henne. The Super Bowl LIV MVP also recorded a rushing score in the contest.
Wilson showed support to Mahomes on Twitter after the contest:
All good brother! 💪🏽 https://t.co/ORwLG6eFTV

In the first half, Mahomes briefly received treatment on the sideline for a toe injury.
Despite his absence, the Chiefs held on for a 22-17 victory, punching their ticket to the AFC Championship Game for the third consecutive year.
