Jacksonville Jaguars running back Ryquell Armstead isn't expected to play this season due to symptoms suffered while battling COVID-19, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Armstead has been hospitalized twice since contracting the virus, including significant respiratory issues, per Schefter.
The second-year tailback was one of the first players placed on the COVID-19/reserve list and was removed from the active roster on Aug. 2. He has yet to fully recover.
Armstead was activated on Aug. 20 but was put back on the list prior to Week 1.
The 23-year-old is expected to return to full strength in time for next season.
