Logan Ryan has agreed to join the New York Giants, the star defensive back announced Monday.

The contract will be for one year and carries a $5-million base value, including a $3.5-million signing bonus, a source told Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk. The deal also includes $2.5 million in incentives.

Ryan played the last three seasons with the Tennessee Titans, leading the team with 113 tackles in 2019. He also amassed four interceptions, four forced fumbles, 18 pass breakups, and 4.5 sacks through 16 games last year.

The New Jersey native began his NFL career with the New England Patriots after being selected in the third round in 2013. He helped the Patriots win two Super Bowls (XLIX, LI) and led the team in tackles in 2016.

The 29-year-old was considered one of the top defensive backs available this offseason and his versatility should be an asset to the Giants' defense, which allowed 4,225 passing yards last season, fifth worst in the NFL.

Ryan lined up at both safety and slot corner in 2019, also helping Tennessee as a sporadic blitzer.

In seven pro seasons, Ryan missed just three games due to injury. He was reportedly initially looking for $10 million per season on the open market.

New York has invested heavily in its secondary this offseason. The club signed cornerback James Bradberry to a three-year, $43.5-million deal in free agency and drafted safety Xavier McKinney 36th overall in April. However, McKinney suffered a fracture in his left foot last week and is reportedly expected to miss around 10 weeks.
