Lions president: 'Fans will be pleased' with team's re-designed uniforms
The Detroit Lions will unveil new uniforms April 13 and team president Rod Wood is optimistic about how they'll be received.
"We worked very closely with the league and Nike in designing the uniforms and had several different options presented to us before we finally settled on the one that we'll unveil on April 13," Wood said at a corporate event this week, according to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press. "And I think you'll be pleased. I think the fans will be pleased."
The Lions have already unveiled a slightly revised logo that removes the color black. The team's new uniforms will also remove all traces of black, reverting to the blue and silver of years past.
Wood said the Lions will have four uniform options in the set. The four are believed to be home, road, throwback, and "Color Rush" uniforms.
