On top of an existing ankle injury, Cincinnati Bengals tight end Tyler Eifert also suffered an injury to his back and is listed as doubtful for Week 5.
Eifert was tentatively expected to make his 2016 debut Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys. Now that looks highly unlikely.
The former first-round pick, who caught 13 touchdown passes last season, was injured in January's Pro Bowl and underwent surgery in May.
Bengals tight ends C.J. Uzomah and Tyler Kroft have been taking snaps in Eifert's absence.
Eifert's injury was initially reported by ESPN's Adam Schefter and Katherine Terrell as a setback to his surgically repaired ankle.
