The Oakland Raiders' deal with safety Reggie Nelson is worth a maximum of $12 million over two seasons, a source told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
The signing was hailed as another big win for Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie, who has added Kelechi Osemele, Bruce Irvin, and Sean Smith, among others, to his roster since the start of free agency.
In Nelson, the Raiders get a veteran back-end presence who can help minimize the effects of Charles Woodson's retirement.
The Cincinnati Bengals, Nelson's former team, were involved in negotiations until the end, Rapoport adds.
