Here are the 2024 first base rankings for standard 5x5 leagues.

Why Freeman's No. 1: Freeman continued to put up big-time fantasy numbers in 2023, swatting 29 home runs with 102 RBIs, 211 hits, and 59 doubles (huge, if your league accounts for two-baggers). His 23 stolen bases also increase his fantasy value, considering no other first baseman swiped more than 15 last season.

Player worth reaching for: Steer may only be in his sophomore campaign, but the Cincinnati Reds utility man is worth a reach. His positional versatility and durability allow fantasy owners to slot a productive player into their lineup nearly every day. Steer hit 23 homers, 86 RBIs, and 37 doubles with a .356 on-base percentage in 156 games last season.

Dark-horse pick: Budding Guardians prospect Kyle Manzardo didn't make our top 30, though he still has a chance to put up big power numbers in fantasy this campaign. The 23-year-old rookie will begin the season in the minors but could start at first for the Cleveland Guardians later this year. Stashing him on your bench could be a worthwhile late-round grab if you seek homers and RBIs.
