Wisconsin running back Jonathan Taylor broke Herschel Walker's record for most rushing yards through a player's junior season on Saturday.

Taylor reached 5,598 career rushing yards in Week 12 during another outstanding performance, topping the all-time mark.

The Badgers running back posted 204 yards and two touchdowns on 25 carries during a 37-21 win over the Cornhuskers. He also recorded two catches for 11 yards.

Taylor entered the contest with 1,410 scrimmage yards and 19 total touchdowns through nine games in 2019. He's on track to eclipse 2,000 total yards for the third consecutive season.

Walker produced a stellar career with Georgia from 1980 to 1982, totaling 5,259 yards and 49 rushing touchdowns before turning pro with the USFL's New Jersey Generals.

The Dallas Cowboys drafted Walker in the fifth round in 1986. He made two Pro Bowl appearances over 12 seasons.
