An anonymous member of the American Ryder Cup team is taking Patrick Reed to task over his criticism of team captain Jim Furyk and teammate Jordan Spieth.

"He is so full of s---," the team member said in reference to Reed saying he was "blindsided" by Furyk's decision not to pair him with Spieth, his former Ryder Cup partner, according to the New York Post's Mark Cannizzaro. "Blindsided my ass. He begged to play with Tiger."

Spieth and Reed went 4-1-2 when paired together in the previous two Ryder Cups, but Furyk opted to put Spieth with Justin Thomas instead, who went 3-1.

Reed went 0-2 during team competition alongside Tiger Woods, lowlighted by his struggles to find the fairway during Saturday morning's session.

"He would have shot 83 with his own ball Saturday," the team member said. "He totally screwed Tiger. He has no clue how to play team golf. I saw firsthand how bad of a team player he was. Eleven players understood the concept of team golf and only one didn't. Unfortunately, that one proved to be too costly for the team to overcome."

Aside from his Ryder Cup pairing, Reed also took exception to being benched Saturday afternoon after his poor play that morning.

"For somebody as successful in the Ryder Cup as I am, I don't think it's smart to sit me twice," he said.

The Americans would go on to lose the Ryder Cup to Team Europe in a blowout.

"I feel so bad for Jim because he was an unreal captain," the American team member added, per Cannizzaro. "He would have run through a wall for 12 of the guys. Unfortunately, there were only 11 players that would have returned the favor."
