Broncos' Joseph on 5 turnovers vs. Chiefs: 'That's insane'
Denver Broncos head coach Vance Joseph could barely believe his eyes after watching his team cough up five turnovers in Monday night's 29-19 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
After losing their third game in a row, Joseph commended some parts of his team's performance, but crucial mistakes - three interceptions and two fumbles - took them out of contention.
"I'm going to watch the film tonight and tomorrow obviously, like most coaches would do and see, but tonight, our defense played winning football in my opinion. Our offensive line blocked - we ran the ball for 177 and the pass (protection) was better," Joseph told reporters after the game.
"But, it all falls back to turning the ball over five times. That's insane. You can't win turning the ball over five times. Guys work too hard along with coaches and players to have a big game and give it away five times. Its mind-boggling."
The Chiefs scored the first points of the game on a 45-yard fumble return.
Joseph cited the Broncos' ability to keep the contest within two scores for not wavering from starter Trevor Siemian. Siemian threw three picks with only one touchdown and 198 passing yards in the loss.
"To go back with our quarterback, in my opinion, was the right decision," said Jospeh. "Obviously it didn't end well."
