Report: Hull's Robertson, Liverpool's Stewart swapping sides

Andrew Robertson is set to undergo a medical with Liverpool ahead of a summer transfer from Hull City, sources told Sky Sports News.

The 23-year-old's switch will reportedly cost £8 million, and in a flurry of activity between the two clubs, Sky sources also understand midfielder Kevin Stewart, also 23, could move the other way for a fee that could reach £7.5 million after add-ons.

Robertson would cater for a lacking part of Jurgen Klopp's lineup, with last season's first-choice left-back Alberto Moreno losing his place in the team following some error-strewn performances. That left James Milner to fill the void for much of the campaign, despite him often operating as a winger or in his preferred position in central midfield.

Robertson isn't strictly a left-back, and showed his adaptability when thrust higher up the Hull lineup on the occasions when then-manager Marco Silva opted for a back-three.

The Scot made his professional bow at the historic Queen's Park, and then played a season with Dundee United before joining Hull for around £2.85 million in 2014.

Stewart, meanwhile, has made 11 Premier League appearances for the Reds since joining the club from Tottenham Hotspur in 2014. He was initially seen as a full-back himself, capable of filling in on either side of the defence, before establishing himself as a midfielder shortly after arriving on Merseyside.

He only signed a new five-year contract last November, but is prepared to drop down to the Championship to secure regular minutes.
