Everton's busy summer shopping spree shows no signs of slowing down, with the Toffees announcing Friday that a deal for Nigerian striker Henry Onyekuru has been finalised.

Onyekuru, 20, makes the Merseyside move from Belgian side Eupen, with Everton adding that the player has put pen to paper on a five-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

The once-capped Nigerian international, who notched a debut cap June 1 against Togo, will spend this coming season on loan with Jupiler League champion Anderlecht.

After scoring a joint league-best 22 goals for Eupen on the heels of a spell with renowned Qatari youth project Aspire Academy, Onyekuru quickly became the subject of transfer rumours.

Arsenal was reportedly close to agreeing on terms with the player for an alleged fee of £6.8 million, though that talk curtailed as the Toffees became front-runners for Onyekuru's services amid chatter that Anderlecht and Club Brugge also fancied the pacey forward.

Those rumours came to fruition Friday, with Onyekuru becoming Everton's third senior signing of the summer alongside Jordan Pickford and Davy Klaassen.
