Felipe signs new Red Bulls deal
Fresh off the signing of Luis Robles to a new contract, the New York Red Bulls continue to lock down starting talent, coming to agreement on a fresh deal for midfielder Felipe, the club announced Thursday.
The 26-year-old, currently playing in his sixth season in MLS, has enjoyed a solid three-year tenure at Red Bull Arena since joining the club in a trade with the Montreal Impact. He and Tyler Adams form the preferred partnership in central midfield for Jesse Marsch's side, after Dax McCarty was traded away.
"Felipe has proved to be a key player for our club over the past two and a half seasons," Red Bulls sporting director Denis Hamlett said in a club-issued statement. "He continues to grow as a player and we are excited to keep him as part of our team."
