Texas A&M mascot-protector rewarded with new boots
The cadet that saved Texas A&M's canine mascot from impending disaster has been rewarded with a pair of "senior boots."
The quick-thinking Aggies Corps of Cadet Ryan Kreider blocked SMU receiver Der'rikk Thompson from running over Aggies mascot Reveille VIII on Saturday. The receiver was shoved out of bounds after sprinting for a long pass down the left sidelines.
The sophomore Kreider made headlines around the nation after the move, as well as being the talk of SEC fans on Twitter.
Kreider will receive the senior boots from his commandant, according to the Corps of Cadets Facebook page.
Well done Ryan Kreider!Aggie nation is very proud of you!Your senior boots are now bought & paid for - compliments of the Commandant! Whoop!
