Division III RB sets NCAA single-game rushing record
With all of the attention on the Division I schools and players as the regular season continues to inch closer to a conclusion, the most impressive display in the nation today came courtesy of a Division III running back.
Cartel Brooks of Heidelberg University rushed for an NCAA-record 465 yards in a 42-14 victory over Baldwin Wallace on Saturday.
Prior to Brooks' performance, the record had been held by Octavias McKoy, who ran for 455 yards as a member of Western Connecticut (Div. III) in October of this year.
LaDainian Tomlinson holds the FBS single-game record with 406 yards.

Brooks discussed the achievement after the game, via ESPN:
"We had a good game today," Brooks told the school's website. "This could be our last game, so we wanted to play well for our seniors. I just followed my blocks."
