Texas lands commitment from 5-star DE Wesley

Five-star defensive end Richard Wesley has committed to Texas, he announced to Hayes Fawcett of On3 Sports on Sunday.

Wesley decommitted from Oregon in May after initially picking the Ducks just weeks earlier.

A California native, Wesley is ranked as the 18th overall recruit in ESPN's 2026 class. He was also regarded as the third best 2026 recruit at his position in the nation.

Wesley is the second five-star recruit to join the Longhorns' 2026 class, following in the footsteps of quarterback Dia Bell. The pocket-passing Bell is the sixth overall recruit of 2026 and committed to Texas in June 2024.
