Washington State's Ward enters transfer portal
Washington State quarterback Cameron Ward is expected to enter the transfer portal following a productive 2023 campaign.
"After a lot of reflection, I will be evaluating entering the 2024 NFL Draft as well as intending to enter my name into the transfer portal as a grad transfer," Ward wrote in a statement on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Ward, 21, intends to transfer for the second time in his collegiate career after leaving Incarnate Word to join the Cougars in January 2022.

Ward passed for 3,736 yards, 25 touchdowns, and seven interceptions with a 66.6% completion rate. He also added 144 rushing yards and eight scores on the ground.
The Texas native started over 20 games for the Cougars during his tenure. He leaves campus having passed for 6,968 yards, 48 touchdowns, and 16 interceptions while sporting a 138 passer rating.
Washington State doesn't have much experience on the quarterback depth chart with Ward leaving the program. Redshirt freshmen John Mateer and Emmett Brown are the only other signal-callers to attempt more than four passes this season.
